Carl F. Biele

Died: May 31, 1964 - Exeter, New Hampshire

 

 

Carl was born in New York City March 10, 1878.  He was the first child of Charles F. Biele and Fredricke Prediger.  Like his father, Carl was described in family records as tall with blonde hair and blue eyes.

  

Carl married Theresa Newman on February 11, 1904 in New York City.  

 

Carl joined his father's showcase business.  The business, later known as Charles F. Biele and Sons, manufactured custom showcases for the top museums and private collections of their day.

 

Carl was also a licensed architect and an inventor and had two patents issued in his name.

Carl became president of the business in 1930 after the death of his father.  The business continued operations until it was finally dissolved in the early 1940's. 

 

In the 1940's Carl moved with his immediate family to New Hampshire where he worked in the evenings in the tool room of a factory and during the day making furniture at home with some of his family.  Carl died in 1964.

 

Carl is buried at Exeter Cemetery in Exeter, New Hampshire.  He is joined in the plot with his wife Theresa, son Bernard
